Meet Stephanie Coleman
Scranton Licensed Massage Therapist
I graduated with honors from Allied Medical and Technical Institute, Forty Fort PA in March of 2008. Before enrolling at Allied I followed the footsteps of my three older siblings and went to Misericordia University. After finishing my 4th semester I decided to leave Misericordia and try to make a career out of Massage Therapy, something I always wanted to do.
At Allied I concentrated on human anatomy and physiology, Swedish massage therapy techniques, learning the basics, and other massage modalities. Since 2008 I have been an active professional member of the Associated Bodyworks & Massage Professionals, keeping up to date with continuing education and CPR classes.
For the next 4 ½ years I worked at professional spa and wellness centers in the Greater Pittston area. During this time I continued learning new techniques including; hot stone therapy, deep tissue massage, ear candling, and Raki Level I. I became a Pennsylvania Licensed massage therapist in 2011 when Pennsylvania joined with other states and realized the importance of licensing massage therapists.
I believe that massage should be performed in a relaxed professional setting. When meeting Dr. Christine I realized she connected medical massage, with a relaxed spa like setting. It seemed perfect for me and in May of 2012 I joined Active Health Chiropractic.
As well as being one of the licensed massage therapists in 2014 I started some administrative duties and received a certificate as a chiropractic assistant. Continuing education and learning more modalities is important to me and I have taken trigger point techniques for the upper body, prenatal, deep tissue massage, along with many massage ethics classes. This ensures I can continue to use the best up to date techniques under the direction of the doctors on our patients.
I love what I do and am blessed that I am able to help people feel better in the process. Call our office at (570) 558-2225 to schedule your massage appointment today!
